Our group, Les Enfants d'Arausio, is a group of approximately 30 teenagers and adults who share their passion for the dance, music, and song of Provence.
Since 1947, the troupe has performed in France and around the world, representing our country, our region, and our city, Orange.
Wearing costumes from the Comtat Venaissin region, inspired by the late 19th century, we perform mazurkas, polkas, farandoles, and other traditional dances of Provence—ritual, creative, and military dances perpetuated by the Provosts and Dance Masters, in direct lineage to the Dance Masters of Napoleon III's armies.
Our group, Les Enfants d'Arausio, is composed of 30 people of all ages, sharing the same passion for traditional dances, music, and songs of Provence.
Since 1947, the group has performed in France, and worldwide in order to represent our country, our region and our town Orange.
Wearing the traditional Comtadin costume, inspired from the Napoleonian III rd era in the 19th century, we perform Mazurkas, Polkas, Farandoles and other traditional dances from Provence as well as ritual dances. Some are created upon the traditional music, and some are inherited from military dances, passed down from generations through the military Provosts and Maîtres de Dance from Napoleon's army.
