ABOUT CIOFF® FESTIVALS
A folklore festival serves as a vital means to safeguard, promote, and share traditional culture, showcasing expressions such as music, dance, games, rituals, customs, crafts, and other forms of art. To effectively support the preservation and enrichment of cultural identity and diversity, a folk arts festival must be presented within a culturally relevant context.

CIOFF® divides its partner festivals into three different categories:
National Festival:
Festival for adults and children, without the participation of international groups.
CIOFF® Festival:
Festivals that, despite meeting quality and logistical requirements, have not yet obtained CIOFF® recognition.
Recognized CIOFF® International Festival:
Festivals that meet the quality requirements established by the organization, primarily regarding a minimum duration of five days, with the participation of at least five foreign groups with live dance and music.
