Elenco Folklórico Minguero Jeroky
Latin American and Caribbean Sector
PARAGUAY

With the firm purpose of supporting and promoting diverse cultural expressions through dance, the TIO KILO Foundation created the MINGUERO JEROKY Folklore Group to disseminate and preserve local and national traditions through the art of dance, expressed by children, youth, and adults. This group fosters fundamental values for social interaction, shows solidarity with their community, and contributes to their personal development based on better use of free time. This group utilizes recreation and culture as structural elements in personal development and quality of life.
This group bases its activities on the preservation, dissemination, and preservation of local and national folklore customs and traditions. It was formally established after members toured the Old World thanks to invitations from the Tío Kilo Foundation, bringing the expression of Paraguayan dance to the region. The founding meeting took place on Sunday, January 18, 2009, with Mr. Mario García Siani in attendance. As the delegate of CIOFF Paraguay, he accepted the group as a new member of CIOFF, Paraguay Section. The group began with four dance couples. Currently, Minguero Jeroky has three dance groups:
the little ones from 5 to 8 years old,
the children from 8 to 14 years old,
the youth from 15 years old and up.
