Warsaw University Dance Theatre ‘Warszawianka’, formerly known as the Warsaw University Folk Song and Dance Ensemble ‘Warszawianka’, is a unique group established at Poland's largest university. With a history of more than 50 years of dance activities based on folklore and aimed mainly at university students, it is constantly developing and expanding its interests also to other age groups, other dance techniques and other forms of presentation. Currently, ‘Warszawianka’ consists of more than 200 people dancing and singing in 6 age groups and playing in two musical ensembles. The repertoire of the Theatre consists of various types of presentations, not only dance, but also vocal and instrumental. They range from solo shows to multi-parade dance compositions or theatrical performances.
