THE FESTIVAL
The International Festival of Folk Dance, Rituals, and Music “N’KARADAK KRISIN TUPANAT” Kosovo is held annually in the beautiful cities of Ferizaj, Viti, Gjilan, Kamenica, Prizren, and Prishtina, in the Republic of Kosovo.
The founder of this grand festival, which brings together admirers of art, traditional culture, and folklore, is Mr. Arsim Abazi, President of CIOFF® Kosovo. He established the festival with the support of passionate enthusiasts of musical instruments, dance, artistic vocals, and cultural diversity.
The aim of the festival is to promote and preserve traditional values and heritage – both within the country and abroad – as well as to encourage cultural exchange between local and international artists.
The festival takes place every year and lasts seven days, from July 27 to August 2. It features 8 to 12 traditional dance groups, both local and international, and offers around 15 performances and special activities throughout the week. Each year, the festival attracts more than 10,000 visitors.
The work of the festival is overseen by an Organizational Council, whose members are appointed by the Festival Director and supported by over 50 volunteers.
THE AIM OF THE FESTIVAL
The main purpose of the festival is to organize an international folkloric event for adults, minorities, and local ethnic communities, with the participation of various folk ensembles from around the world.
The festival aims to convey messages of peace, love, understanding, and coexistence among nations.
Moreover, the festival is committed to preserving cultural heritage through artistic performances and intercultural dialogue among different nationalities.
