The International Folklore Festival VELIKO TARNOVO® is international cultural event, in which folklore groups and their musicians perform. The Festival is confirmed as the biggest international folklore event in the Balkans. Summer Folklore Festival of Razgrad, member of CIOFF Bulgaria. The idea of the Festival is to popularize the folk traditions preserved by the local ethnographic group "Kapantsi", which is considered to be the oldest Bulgarian population. They have also preserved the oldest tradition of preparing the unique taste of homemade cottage cheese, also known as Kapan yogurt. To this day, it is made according to an ancient family recipe, passed down from grandmother to granddaughter.
