ABOUT US
The German CIOFF® section developed in both the GDR and the Federal Republic. The GDR joined CIOFF® in 1973 and hosted the World Congress in 1983. In West Germany, festival organizers formed a working group in 1975, leading to the founding of a joint German section in 1978/79, including partners from Luxembourg. After reunification, a unified section was created, active internationally ever since. The official founding year is set as 1973.
