CHINESE TAIPEI

Established in 1994 by Fr. GianCarlo Michelini, founder of the Lan Yang Dancers, the first folk delegation from Taiwan, making performance in front of the Pope, the CIOFF® Chinese Taipei has served as the platform between the folk performing groups of Taiwan and the world, devoting itself to the promotion of the folk art and culture of Taiwan to different countries on earth.

The major tasks, fulfilled by the CIOFF® Chinese Taipei can be referred as follows.

- To assist the celebration of the local art festivals or events by introducing the good and representative foreign performing groups to Taiwan among which the most well- known one is the Yilan International Children’s Folklore & Folkgame Festival (http://www.yicfff.tw / http://www.facebook.com/YICFFF)
- To promote the folk art and culture of Taiwan by introducing the Taiwanese folk performing groups to international folk festivals, held in different countries around the world: Each year, 8 to 10 folk delegations from Taiwan join the international folk festivals through CIOFF® Chinese Taipei
- To get involved actively in works and activities of CIOFF® International
- To work with the CIOFF® International to hold different international meetings such as the CIOFF® Children’s Conference on Education in 1999, Meeting of CIOFF® Working Group on Children in 2025 and 2015 CIOFF® Spring EXCO & Council Meeting in 2025 to facilitate the operation of CIOFF® International and the understanding among its members
