ABOUT US
The MBENINGOMA-COMORES Association was founded in 2011 in the town of Mbéni, in the northeast of Ngazidja, Comoros Islands, by BOUSRI BEN SAID, a fervent advocate for Comorian culture and traditional arts. His inspiration came from a pivotal moment: the Comoros' participation in the 2nd Pan-African Festival of Algiers (2009).
This experience brought together a generation of artists united by a common ideal: to safeguard, preserve, promote, transmit, and showcase Comorian culture throughout the world.
Today, the MBENINGOMA-COMORES Association is recognized as the Comoros National Chapter of CIOFF and plays a key role in promoting Comorian culture, blending tradition with a global perspective.
The MBENINGOMA-COMORES Association is a non-profit organization that unites folk groups, festivals, cultural stakeholders, and artists. Since 2015, we have been operating as an independent national section and corresponding member of CIOFF International, scrupulously respecting the standards of the international network dedicated to safeguarding, promoting, conserving, and transmitting traditional Comorian culture from generation to generation in general.
