Conclusion of the 54th CIOFF® World Congress

The 54th World Congress of CIOFF® (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts) has successfully concluded in Santiago, Chile. The event gathered representatives from various National Sections and Partner Members, united by their shared passion for intangible cultural heritage from around the world.


Hosted by CIOFF® Chile, the Congress provided a platform for collaboration and discussion on cultural diversity and traditional arts under UNESCO. Over several days, delegates engaged in forums, committee meetings, and workshops to enhance CIOFF’s mission. The event featured performances that highlighted Chile’s cultural traditions, allowing delegates to exchange best practices and discuss future collaborations within the CIOFF® network.


Key outcomes included a review of ongoing international projects, planning for upcoming festivals, and strategies to increase youth involvement in CIOFF® initiatives. Elections and appointments were also held for various international committees, reaffirming CIOFF’s commitment to organizational growth and effective cultural representation on a global scale.


The conclusion of the 54th World Congress marks a significant milestone in CIOFF’s ongoing efforts to promote international understanding and peace through culture. As the organization looks ahead, preparations are already underway for the next World Congress and upcoming festivals that will continue to celebrate humanity’s shared cultural heritage.
