Every two years from 10th to 15th of August, CIME brings together traditional art groups representing mountain culture from around the world. Through dance, music, crafts and cinema, the festival celebrates the culture of mountains in the charming village of Evolène and the Val d'Hérens. Awarded with the CIOFF label in 2009, this event is unique in Europe for its mountain theme and authentic atmosphere. The mythical stage of the festival welcomes authentic, ellaborate and stylized groups, with a focus on quality and diversity. The final parade on the closing day demonstrates the commitment of the whole community of Evolène, with hundreds of people wearing their traditional costume.
