International Folklore Festival City of Lorca

The "City of Lorca" International Folklore Festival, organized by the Lorca Choirs and Dances Association, is one of the main artistic and cultural events in Lorca's cultural program. Each year, the Festival focuses on a specific folk craft, giving it a unique and special touch. Its activities include all kinds of folkloric displays and performances for all audiences (senior citizens, people with disabilities, spontaneous street performances where the public participates informally with the groups, well-crafted theatrical productions, street and square performances, etc.), transforming the city into a vibrant mosaic of cultures and traditions during these festive days. In addition, workshops, food tastings, conferences, exhibitions, and other events are held throughout the festival. The “Ciudad de Lorca” belongs as a full member to CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts), an organization belonging to UNESCO, which endorses the Lorca Festival as one of the most prestigious in our Region of Murcia.
