International Folklore Festival City of Burgos
Burgos, founded in 884 next to the Arlanzón River, is a key center. The Cathedral (World Heritage Site) and the Way of St. James define its character. Nearby is Atapuerca, the birthplace of the first Europeans. In July, the International Folklore Festival transforms the Plaza de San Juan. For five days, Burgos is a center of peace, diversity, and culture, featuring parades and performances by groups from around the world.
