The International Folklore Festival “FOLK CINFÃES” began in 2015 and was officially recognized by C.I.O.F.F. (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts) at the General Assembly held in Santiago, Chile, on October 29, 2019. The Festival takes place in one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal and is distinguished by the variety of venues where it is held, giving participating groups the opportunity to visit the entire region of Cinfães and the Douro Valley (the region where the famous Port wine is produced), performing in several municipalities and parishes before a warm, welcoming, and hospitable audience.
