The Djumbe Fatima Festival, a new annual and emblematic cultural event of the Comoros, will be held in Fomboni on the island of Moheli starting in 2025, with the support of the Comoros branch of CIOFF. Its main objective is to pay homage to Queen Djumbe Fatima (1849-1878) while promoting the richness of Comorian cultural heritage and encouraging tourism. Consequently, this festival, held in July, attracts locals and international visitors alike with its shows, concerts, women's sporting competitions, and food fairs.
