The Delia Zapata Olivella Inter-School Traditional Dance Encounter promotes the training, circulation, and appreciation of traditional dance as a pedagogical, artistic, and cultural heritage practice, strengthening educational and cultural processes for children, adolescents, and young people.

Through its international component, the Encounter fosters cultural and pedagogical exchange between participating groups and invited delegations, through workshops, artistic showcases, and spaces for dialogue that encourage the transmission of knowledge, recognition of cultural diversity, and the national and international projection of traditional dance.
