To accomplish its duty in the field of cultural policy, CIOFF created in 1993 a Cultural Commission. The duties of this Commission are:

1. the development and the realization of projects to implement CIOFF cultural policy;
2. the communication to its members of all issues concerning CIOFF cultural policy and its implementation;
3. the program of scientific conferences in collaboration with the National Section in charge of the World Congress;
4. the coordination of the information concerning scientific conferences organized by National Sections;
5. the implementation of decisions taken by the General Assembly concerning cultural policy;
6. the submission of CIOFF projects to UNESCO and to other international organizations;
7. the incouragement of development of relations between CIOFF National Sections and the National Commissions for UNESCO of their country.
